July 19th | Beach Park (Preliminary Conceptual Plans) Open House

Beach Park (Preliminary Conceptual Plans) Open House
6-8pm; Tuesday, July 19th | Atlantic Recreation Center (2500 Atlantic Ave, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034)

The Amelia Island Beach Park Harmonization team will be on island to present the draft preliminary conceptual plans for the seven beach parks within the scope: North Beach Park, Main Beach Park, Seaside Beach Park, Peters Point Beach Park Beach Park, Scott Road Beach Access, Burney Beach Park, and South Road Beach Access. The preliminary concepts are drafts of final plans waiting on community feedback and input to finalize next month (August).

The EDSA team has reviewed comments from the previous community outreach in May and met with key stakeholders within both the City of Fernandina Beach and Nassau County for feedback on the preliminary designs. The team has also taken into consideration the comments submitted via the survey (over 900 entries to date). If you would still like to fill out the survey, it was extended to be open through July 31st (Take Survey HERE). The team hopes to gather community feedback on the proposed designs next week.

We hope to see you Tuesday, July 19th any time between 6-8pm! This is an open house, not a presentation, which means all park plans will be displayed on large boards with the ability to leave comments verbally or in written form (Post-It notes). Any Nassau County resident can stop by between 6-8pm; staying the whole time is not necessary. There will be team members on hand to answer any questions that the community has related to the proposed park designs.

For those that cannot attend in-person, the boards will be posted digitally to our Miro site on July 20th. Comments, questions, and concerns can be recorded digitally; please see this previous blog post on how to use the Miro board. We look forward to hearing from the community to help develop the future plans for Amelia Island’s seven beach parks!
